Ford specific notes
- Ford service bulletins for 2011 to 2014 F-150 trucks with the 3.5 EcoBoost describe stumble or misfire on hard acceleration in humid conditions, linked to moisture in the charge air cooler. Fixes included air deflector changes and a PCM update. Possible codes include P0304 to P0306 and P0430.
- Ford TSB 16-0075 covers a stuck canister purge valve causing hard start or stalling after refueling on certain 2013 Escape and 2013 to 2014 Fusion and MKZ models, sometimes with P0456.
- On older Ford engines with a DPFE sensor, P0401 is frequently caused by the DPFE sensor or its cracked hoses.
- Turbo boost leaks and wastegate issues can set P0299 on any EcoBoost; inspect charge pipes and clamps first.
